Paper peepshow/leporello of the construction of the Thames Tunnel consisting of five hand coloured and cut out lithographed panels plus rear panel.

A peephole in the front panel to provide a three-dimensional image of what the tunnel would look like when completed. Carriages and horses are depicted in the tunnel. However, the ramp that would have allowed access for carriages into the tunnel was never built. The tunnel remained accessible only to pedestrians until it was converted into use by a railway in 1865.
On the front of the slipcae an image of the workers during the construction of the tunnel.

slipcase: 15 x 12 cm
In very good condition:
some spots on the back of the leporello and on the front of the cover.
